Who knew when the Government announced free childcare that this would lead to centres closing down, family daycare educators being paid zero dollars for a week's work, and nurses not being able to find care for their kids?
Since the Morrison Government announced its package to support the sector, I have been contacted by a number of my constituents who are suffering due to the changes.
I've heard from owners and service providers who are closing as a result of this package, educators who are getting paid $24 a week, and essential workers including nurses who cannot find centres who will accept their children.
This is unacceptable. Scott Morrison must provide adequate support for the early childhood education sector and ensure it is fair and equitable.
