As NSW’s COVID-19 health crisis deepens, working families across the Hunter and Central Coast are hurting as a direct result of the Morrison-Joyce Government’s 18 months of failures on vaccines, quarantine, and economic supports.
New ABS data shows that payroll jobs in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie have fallen by 3.1 per cent and 8.5 per cent on the Central Coast since June 26 when Greater Sydney was plunged into lockdown because of Scott Morrison’s incompetence.
Payroll job losses in the Hunter Valley (excluding Newcastle) statistical area have also fallen by 3.3 per cent.
This data doesn’t capture the impact on self-employed workers who have also been hit hard by these lockdowns.
