About 140 people are expected to attend my first seniors expo of the year, on Thursday, March 7, at Club Charlestown, from 10am-12.30pm.
My expos always prove popular, where seniors and their families can learn about benefits and services available, as well as positive ageing.
Next Thursday’s program includes speakers from NSW Fair Trading, who will talk about how to avoid scams, and the Energy and Water Ombudsman.
My colleague Jodie Harrison, the State Member for Charlestown, will join me for a question and answer session.
The expo will feature 20 stallholders, including: Anglican Care, Australian Hearing, Baptist Care, Charlestown Caring Group, Computerpals, Dementia Australia, Department of Human Services, Eastlakes U3A, Energy and Water Ombudsman, Family and Community Services Housing, Hunter Water Corporation, Lake Macquarie City Council, Lions Eye Health Program, Meals on Wheels Charlestown, NSW Fair Trading, Southern Cross Care Caves Beach, Telstra, The Place Charlestown Community Centre, Wesley Mission, and Bolton Clarke Home Support Services.
Entry to the seniors expo is free, but numbers are limited.
