$310,000 INVESTMENT IN CENTRAL COAST PLAYGROUNDS AND TENNIS COURTS

April 15, 2025

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will upgrade playgrounds at San Remo and Lake Munmorah and re-surface the tennis courts at Mannering Park to make them safer and better for players and the community.

This election commitment will fund:

  • $110,000 renewal of Callen Avenue Reserve, San Remo;
  • $110,000 renewal of Tom Burke Reserve, Lake Munmorah; and
  • $90,000 resurfacing of Mannering Park Tennis Courts.

The renewal of local playgrounds is part of Federal Labor’s commitment to support local children and families, and improve recreational spaces on the Central Coast.

Over the past three weeks, Federal Labor has made election commitments to upgrade facilities to support local sporting clubs across the region:

  • Charlestown Netball will benefit from $130,000 to permanently fix the steps in front of courts 15 and 16;
  • John Balcomb Oval, home to the Dudley Magpies RLFC, will receive a $420,000 lighting upgrade;
  • Lisle Carr Oval, Whitebridge will receive a $275,000 investment to install flood-lighting;
  • Slade Park will be improved with $325,000 works to address longstanding flooding issues; and
  • New fencing will be installed at Halekulani Oval, with a commitment of $35,000.

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government has also committed $4.6 million towards stage 2A of the upgrade of Belmont Sporting Complex, taking the venue one step closer to becoming Lake Macquarie’s premier venue for team sports.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
