2017 Shortland Volunteer Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2017 Shortland Volunteer Awards,

These awards recognise individuals and groups from the Shortland community who make an outstanding contribution to our local community through volunteering.

They acknowledge the invaluable contribution that volunteers make to non-profit organisations in our community. As we all know, volunteers make a significant difference to the lives of many. These awards endeavour to pay tribute to the unsung heroes who give so much time and energy to others, asking for nothing in return.

The 2017 Shortland Volunteer Awards call on community members to nominate exceptional volunteers who live in the Shortland Electorate and/ or donate their time to assist not-for-profit organisations within the Shortland Electorate.

Awards will be presented in categories including:

  1. Junior Volunteer (17 and under)
  2. Youth Volunteer (18-25)
  3. Senior Volunteer (65 and over)
  4. Volunteer Group
  5. Education Volunteer
  6. Emergency Management Volunteer
  7. Environment Volunteer
  8. 1. Long-term Commitment to Volunteering (15 yrs of Service or more)

Each award recipient will receive a certificate of appreciation at an award ceremony to be held on Tuesday 23 November to celebrate the achievements of our local volunteering heroes. Only one nomination is permitted per group per category.
